I just got my motorcycle license here in Japan, and am a small person, not an experienced rider. I fell in love with the Estrella while 'window shopping' for a good first bike. I've had my (very old) Estrella for about three weeks, and I love every second on that bike. I've already had to replace one throttle cable, but what a great bike. It's probably a 1993, but has less than 8,000 km on it.
The Bike looks very very good,..so good luck with it!!
Hope that you get many Kilometers on your clock before Winter
Myself i live in Svedala Scania south Sweden,..and here in Sweden we only got 7 Estrella:s sold,. and only the 1996 Estrella RS ,.that's the only ones that got here !
A question if you don't mind,..do you know how i can get in contact with sellers on the Japanese yahoo
Thanks everyone for your replies - sorry for not checking in more!
Motorino - sorry for not replying sooner. The Japanese Yahoo auction (which is as popular as E-Bay in America) is a great place to shop and trade, BUT - it is Japanese only. And many Japanese are not confident enough in their English to try to speak, so - you will get no answer in English. Let me know if I can help in Nihongo (Japanese!).
I LOVE LOVE LOVE This bike. I've been riding it for nearly a year now, and have taken it all over the country (well, not all over, but to a lot of places).
Problems I've found - due to it being an older model and not fuel injected, this bike does not do well at higher altitudes. I've bought a jet set, and will have to practice re-jetting as I travel. This is a bit tedious and disconcerting, because Japan is quite the mountainous country...
