You have probably solved your carburetor problem long ago but for what it is worth I discovered the other day a reproduction carburetor for sale on Amazon. It must be a new addiction as I wa looking myself last year and came up with nothing. It claims to be for the BJ250 and the illustration does seem to confirm this with to small alterations of the slow running adjustment and the vent pipe exiting fron the other side of the carburetor body.
