Hi all, can you tell me - how can I tell that the timing chain needs replacing?

Hi Stuart,
you have to take off the upper (round) part on the left side of the engine.
Before you have to lift the gasolene tank , in order to take off the upper screw.
Be careful, when lifting the part - perhaps you are lucky and don't need
a new seal (Dichtung). Then you can see, if the chain needs replacement.

Thank you - when I remove the cover what should I look for? Is there an indicator of a worn chain?

You will see the clearence between the chain and the socket of the chain-adjuster.
